About You
It was far more enjoyable than I had expected it to be due to the approachability of the firm. Although certain tasks did involve a certain amount of hard work, it was a fantastic insight.
I got to actually complete several tasks that needed doing during my placement and was always made to feel welcome, whether my senior associates or trainees.
There was no such thing as a stupid question!
We were given mock interviews and a mock group assessment which were particularly helpful...
The Company
We were given a timetable at the start of the week. Our days were well-structured with work shadowing in the afternoons and an assortment of talks, networking events, case studies and workshops throughout the morning.
The atmosphere wasn't quite 'fun never stopped' but there certainly was an open door policy and as a group everyone on the placement got on excellently.
Considering that we are only first years, they invested a considerable amount.
To a large extent!!!!!!!!!!!!
It confirmed that all of the phrases and mottos used on the website are in fact accurate.
It has really made me seriously consider a career as a solicitor.
Everything Else
I was both paid and my travel expenses were covered.
We were each assigned a trainee mentor who contacted us prior to the Spring Vac Scheme and there was a networking lunch with trainees and a dinner with partners and graduate recruitment.
Perhaps more time to spend with other people on the scheme would have been beneficial.
We had a presentation on pro bono work!
An incredible experience.
