About You
It gave a real insight into RBS, especially the culture of the firm.
The sheer extent of time, effort and resources invested into the programme and into each participants developments shows how valued we are by RBS.
There were always lots of people I could go to with queries, from the graduate recruiters to the different people running the simulations, even to the graduates we were with on desk rotations to an extent.
I developed many skills which will definitely benefit me throughout my career, as well as me as an individual. Understanding in depth more about the divisions within IB will help me with my degree and future career plans.
The Company
The insight was well planned. The training at the start was useful and I used it throughout the week during desk rotations and for my final assessment. The desk rotations were very enlightening; the grads were very helpful and put a lot of effort into ensuring our time with them was most efficient. On the last day we worked with an organisation as part of RBS' Community Social Responsibility which was a relaxed morning before our assessments for next years summer internship. However I feel that maybe this should have been done after the assessment center and I would have liked another desk rotation to be able to learn about another division, but I understand there was a lot of organisation needed for the smooth running of the assessment day. There were also networking events organised throughout the week for the participants to socialise which was good.
Everyone really got; it was a great atmosphere to learn and develop in.
I really feel that a lot was invested for my development and learnt a lot. I would have liked more practise for client meetings.
I learnt that culture and clients are the number one focus for RBS, with plenty of opportunities to develop further and for career progression, and you have support from your team.
I learnt that culture and clients are the main focuses for RBS.
Again, I would have liked to be able to have at least one more desk rotation onto a desk I hadn't previously been to be able to gain a similar understanding of the desks I had been to. In th eprogramme booklets it is detailed the work carried out by different desks and the skills needed etc., but I would have also liked to have seen a case study of the work carried out as I did with other desks.
Everything Else
Travel expenses. People who lived outside the M25 were also provided with accommodation.
We had resentations by leading figures with IB, Markets and Technology. Also on desk rotations and at our final networking event we spoke to graduates working at RBS,
There were a couple of networking events after work which were good, Also because breakfast and lunch were provided as well as breaks, it gave us further opportunities to talk and get to know each other better.
There's lots of opportunities and it's each individuals choice of how much they want to take part in.
I think it was a fantastic opportunity; I learnt a lot about RBS and myself and developed skills further.
