About You
Great environment to have worked in, and just great to get the experience of working in a top-tier law firm in the City, engaging in a mix of tasks.
The mix of activities that we participated in from presentations to networking events shows the effort that the firm put into organizing the week, this was highly appreciated by all participants.
Everyone that I had a chance to speak to were very warm to talk to in general and were upfront in recalling some of the highs and lows of the job. Support was there when called on.
Not exactly the same as my degree course, however I found myself picking up skills that will come in useful in a corporate environment.
The Company
In hindsight, it really was quite well scheduled, as mentioned already, we were kept occupied throughout the day but I did not feel like they tried to overburden us with information.
Particularly got on well with the rest of the cohort which made it an enjoyable week that remained very light-hearted, yet serious at the same time!
Was able to develop my presentation skills and receiving the tailored feedback from staff really made clear areas that I have to improve on in the future.
We were provided with a chance to follow a couple of trainees around the workplace, and allowed us to get a real grasp on what everyday projects might involve.
My opinion on CC developed as the week progressed and I spoke to a wide variety of staff from trainees to senior directors.
Able to delve deeper into the area of commercial law and allowed me to put myself in a better position to make a call on whether this is something I would like to do in the future.
Everything Else
Reimbursed (within limit)
Many events were organised for us, from standard networking sessions to dinners - it provided a great chance to speak with those on the inside.
Again, great chance to speak with CC staff in a relaxed environment.
Volunteering was a common theme that I heard a few of the staff talk about amongst other opportunities such as sport - time permitting though!
Great for those with law aspirations
