About You
It was a really good week with a good amount of insight. The networking and shadowing allow you to get a feel of the firm and the culture
Everyone is really helpful and want to hear about your experiences to date and give their advice on possible career options
The HR team are really helpful at listening to and helping with queries and there are lots of opportunities to ask questions and email employees of the firm
There was a great deal of time spent explaining the basic functions of an investment bank with key features and details explained
The Company
There was a busy timetable which was stuck too throughout the week. As there is limited time, I felt the week was well structured to get the most out of it
For a week in the holidays the week is surprisingly fun and the people on the week were very lovely
For the firm to organise a week for first years they are already taking placing considerable investment on you. The week was well organised with lots of external speakers
There were people from lots of different business lines who took lots of questions. The considerable time shadowing gave me a good feel for the culture and the day to day activities of an employee
Shadowing gives you the opportunity to see the culture first hand, everyone is very personable and willing to help you
There was a lot of time to talk to people and see different areas within the business. The scheme also offers the opportunity to apply to the summer scheme which is rotational
Everything Else
You are offered the chance to stay in accommodation and payed for travel if you live outside a certain area
Yes there were networking events with members of different service lines
Shadowing allowed you the time to talk to different people within the firm and the people who lead the shadowing were happy to introduce you to anyone who was in an area of interest
During the week, RBS organise a half day of volunteering which is something you have to do as part of RBS. This was a good way to see what else is involved with working for the firm
The week offered alot and it allows you to interview for the summer internship during the week which is really unique
