About You
The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, and I was never bored. The areas I experienced were interesting, although I might have liked to spend longer in each seat.
Everyone encouraged me to ask questions, and was always willing to provide an explanation. I also got one on one time with employees that I've never received anywhere else.
If I had any problems, I only needed to mention it and someone would address the issue.
I was introduced to areas I had never studied before but would be studying next year. The work I did was not really applicable to me now, but I found it very interesting and the commercial awareness sections were extremely useful.
The Company
There were a couple of times were a session would run over, but other than that the week ran very smootly.
Extremely open and friendly. Relativley relaxed atmosphere considering the type of work the firm does. Thoroughly enjoyable.
We were only there for a short time, but what we were told and the general impression I got was that training employees was integral to the firm's strategy.
Time constraints were a problem here, but I garnered a reasonable idea of what life would be like as a trainee at the firm, although I couldn't gain a huge amount of experience from a week long scheme. It was still extremely useful though.
Time spent with the trainees exposed me to the atmosphere of the firm.
We were given plenty of information about the firm and its work, as well as an extensive pack giving details about the kind of work the firm did.
Everything Else
Travel expenses were paid for and we received £150 for expenses.
We were with trainees every day, and met associates and partners on a regular basis. In addition we had lunch with trainee mentors and a dinner with some of the partners.
Extremely enjoyable and informative.
It varied depending on the individual, but generally there seemed to be plenty of opportunities outside of work.
Definitely. Its helped me enormously in deciding how I want my career to progress.
