The Role
Was a very good experience, learnt a lot about the industry. Was stressfull commuting every morning on the train though.
All the staff made me feel very welcome and appreciated the work I helped them out with. They also helped me a lot with explaining tasks they wanted me to do to ensure I fully understood.
A lot of help and support was given. They explained tasks fully and made sure I new what I was doing.
Some days there was a lot of work to do and other days there was not so much but in general there was a good balance. I never felt stressed at the work load or bored from having nothing to do.
Wasn't given that much responsibilty but i knew that the jobs I was doing were important. I didn't feel that if I messed them up anything major would happen though.
Hard to say at the moment but I definately think they will help once I've graduated in the job I go into. Time keeping skills will help and just knowing what to expect in my job.
The Company
The tasks themselves were not amazingly exciting but the atmosphere in the office was fun and laid back. There were a few social occasions too in the month I worked there.
Was well organised, the induction was very good during the work part I knew who to ask help from and who was incharge of me.
There wasn't a great deal of personal training but the internship only lasted for one month so I didn't expect any. I assume the training and development will be for longer placements and graduates.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Had a partner interview in the final week and they offered me a graduate job.
The Culture
I felt that everyone in the office was good friends and all the other interns got on well and orgainised socials amongst themselves.
Turned out pretty cheap, lived from home and got the train in when I was needed in the office. Socialising expenses weren't too expensive either, especially as work organised social events were paid for out of company expenses.
Nightlife in Birmingham always has a certain buzz to it.
Hard to say as I was only there for a month. I know there are sports teams and every month you are entitled to a certain amount of hours for CSR work.
