About You
I participated in Open Day at Baker & McKenzie. The day was well organised. I enjoyed the opportunity of meeting trainees, associates and partners.
The atmosphere was fun and the staff was approachable.
I received a lot of guidance. This Open Day helped me to tailor my application properly to the firm. They gave us useful hints and tips regarding the application process.
We had negotiation skills session run by trainees. It was challenging, but I took part in similar skills sessions before at Clifford Chance etc. I found the application skills sessions the most useful.
The Company
Very well organised.
The atmosphere was friendly, although each student wanted to leave a positive lasting impression.
It was only an Open Day, therefore there was not that much time. Nevertheless Baker & McKenzie organised application skills session and negotiation skills session which were good.
I think that networking with trainees helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with Baker & McKenzie.
I believe that there is a truly international environment at the firm which really attracts me as a foreign student.
The Open Day encouraged me to apply for a trainee position at the firm.
Everything Else
I was not paid or reimbursed expenses, only because I did not need to. I live in London, so it costed me less then 2 pounds to get there. As far as I remember they paid for travel expenses of other students.
Yes we had a nice lunch with trainees, associates and partners from various departments.
Although it it difficult to talk and eat at the same time, I have managed to talk to 2-3 employees. People were approachable, therefore I asked many questions.
Only one person from Pension department mentioned about his activities outside of work.
To be honest this was one of the best Open Days I have ever attended to. Friendly people and truly international environment.
