About You
The insight programme was really enjoyable and allowed me to meet some great people - both employees and interns.
Everyone was polite and friendly and very welcoming. Some very senior people had given up their time to come and talk to us on a number of occasions and they had clearly invested a lot in us being there.
There were HR people around throughout the day for any questions we had.
It gave us an overview of the bank, plus a few more technical parts and employees gave their opinions on market events which was really insightful!
The Company
We were given a timetable on the first day and generally we stuck to this. Occasionally things over ran but there was a clear structure in place.
Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. A lot of the sessions were interactive but as it was a general overview there were presentations which people were less interested in.
We were able to shadow and taught more about the divisions we were applying to.
We were able to ask lots of questions to employees regarding work/life balance and what they did day to day. However, there was less time actually trying out the role so it would be hard to accurately assess whether we would be good at it.
The employees really seemed to think highly of the bank and there was a big emphasis throughout the week on diversity and CSR.
It gave a good feel for the bank.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed travel and given accommodation.
There were often employees with us during lunch and during the evening events.
We had a drinks reception on the first night and then a meal in the city which were really good.
They told us all about the CSR and their diversity networks.
Definitely.
