About You
It was a very enjoyable and informative day.
There was quite a large intake on the day so it did feel like we were members of a group rather than individuals.
There was a great deal of support from HR and from trainees.
Negotiation, presentation and application techniques were all covered in great detail.
The Company
There were set exercises throughout the day which developed core skills and meant we were all able to learn about the firm.
It was a positive environment and it was easy to chat to both trainees and partners.
Baker & McKenzie were quite hands-off at the onset of the tasks which I liked. It meant we could try to get to grips with what they were asking and if one of us was slightly confused, they were ready to help.
As well as the exercises, there was also an office tour and a chat about the structure of the firm, locally and globally.
There was an introductory presentation that allowed us to learn more about the specifics of the firm globally. Later on in the day, we were given a tour of the office and the general culture of the London office.
It was very informative.
Everything Else
Travel expenses.
There were exercises with trainees, other members of the intake, HR and then a networking lunch with partners and trainees. There were a lot of opportunities to chat and discuss the firm, law and general social topics.
I enjoyed not only the Open Day but the lunch and networking events they held at my campus. I definitely learnt more about the firm at those events.
Not really. There was not much information about Pro Bono or extra-office activities such as sports.
Yes, definitely. They were a passionate, global and exciting firm which informed me not only about their own practice but the legal industry in general.
