About You
All employees involved in the programme were warm and engaging. They took their time to answer queries and made you feel more like a colleague than an intern.
HR were ever present and always happy to help with any questions ranging from division specific to general queries. After presentations there was always time for questions, from which we received a lot of useful information.
All aspects of the programme involved some kind of professional skill; teamwork, critical thinking, listening etc. As a result, the programme provided a good professional basis to take forward and work on in other aspects of life.
The Company
We were always clear on what was coming up and this was set out at the beginning of the week. We were also well informed of upcoming important deadlines such as interviews.
The other people on the programme were funny, smart and very interesting. There was plenty of time to socialise in both formal and informal environments which helped build good relationships for the team based exercises of the programme
It felt as though, having reached the spring programme, the company was keen to invest their time and resources into you. There was work shadowing, panel presentations from MDs and many other events put on. Again, we felt like colleagues than like spring interns.
The work shadowing gave a very good insight into the day to day activities taken on in certain divisions. In addition, networking with interns also gave another good perspective on life in the firm
We met a huge number of people at different levels within the firm and as a result, it was easy to spot a common ethos within the firm; people were committed, interested and passionate.
The programme changed my second choice preference to an area I had not considered before. The volume of information and also the depth of the information made it extremely valuable in weighing up career options.
Everything Else
Networking events were extremely regular and were with a variety of divisions represented by people from various levels. This gave a chance to talk to people with differing responsibilities within the same division
There was a big emphasis placed on Citi's social commitments. We learned about how much time Citi invests in its local communities and how important involvement in this is.
The wealth of information provided, the chances to meet people and the chance to experience working life made Citi an incredibly useful week. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
