About You
Really felt at home during the short two days at the firm; did not feel stressful/under pressure at any time and thoroughly enjoyed my time.
Staff had a lot on the hands but were all very accommodating and really great to talk to as well! Made everyone feel very welcome, I felt.
Plenty of guidance with regard to applying for future vacation schemes and interview technique etc was provided - very useful!
I really appreciated the chance on the second day to shadow someone working at the firm, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the firm.
The Company
In my opinion, very logically organised with clear separation between the presentation aspect and the work shadowing aspect (days 1 and 2 respectively). It was eventful without being stressful.
Great! Had the chance to meet many people from different unis all doing the same course.
A great deal of advice was offered along the way - valuable pieces of information that cannot be gleaned from their website.
I had never been inside a commercial law firm before so the work shadowing on its own was so fulfilling for me personally.
The company culture really was stamped over everything that went on in the firm, including how the employees conducted themselves - genuinely admired the ambitious culture.
Confirmed that I had chosen the right course at university on top of fuelling a desire to explore law as a career path!
Everything Else
Travel could be claimed back (within reason)
Yes, I had the chance to speak with those from HR as well as fresh trainees to pick their brains with my various question.
Well setup, no one felt like that they were forced to go and speak to someone, that said there were even partners at the firm that spoke to us!
Seemed to be lots of activities to take part in outside of work - including travelling abroad with colleagues which sounded fun.
Great for those not sure if law as a career choice is right for them. Anyone on a law degree should really apply to this to get a feel for what a top-class commercial law firm is all about and to see where you would fit in.
