About You
Overall, it was exactly what you would expect from an insight week. Gaining key insights into various functions around the company and also the time to interact with staff and graduates, with a fast track assessment for internships
The senior managers were very open and welcoming and always willing to discuss anything with us. You never felt like there was a silly questions or embarrassed to ask something
We were always guided by a senior manager or a graduate at all stages meaning that if we ever needed anything they were there.
Perfect level of information in that it wasn't anything too technical but enough to get a real feel of the area and see whether it was something you'd be interested in.
The Company
We all received a schedule and you never felt any moment was wasted.
We all stayed together so that meant that the fun didn't stop once we left the office! Plenty of time to socialise and RBS held two networking drinks which were really great.
Gave us a really great insight into the company and will offer a proportion summer internships so you can't ask for more.
We really got to experience the RBS 9-5 job and got to see what it would be like; the job shadowing helped significantly with this.
All employees were very open to discussing the culture; both positive and negative points
The job shadowing really helped narrow down what type of placement I would like to gain
Everything Else
All expenses from travel to accommodation were covered fully
Any time you can imagine was an opportunity and also not just meeting low-down employees, a lot of senior managers were available to chat
A lot of time to network in an informal setting so there wasn't a lot of pressure
Certainly, there are a lot of groups and charity outings that employees can get involved in
It will give a real insight into RBS and banking in particular. Will help see if the company is right for you and also the industry.
