About You
Even though this was only a First Year Open Day, I enjoyed it a lot. The day was well thought out, and gave a real insight into what the firm was like.
It was quite an informal day, and everyone was really nice, allowing you to have your questions answered by trainees and associates at the firm.
It was only a one day insight, but graduate recruitment were very helpful in case you needed any questions answered.
The workshops were particularly helpful, especially in letting us know what kind of skills they are looking for when it comes to training contracts
The Company
Very well structured. We had a some workshops, a talk with a partner, and a negotiation game that we had to participate in.
Both the people from the firm, and the people at the Open Day were really friendly, and got along well.
Again, it was only a one day insight, but the negotiation game was useful in helping to improve our own negotiation skills.
We had a talk given to us by graduate recruitment on how to apply for training contracts and vacation schemes next year, and what they entailed.
It was a great insight into how friendly the firm was, there was a big emphasis on employees joining other societies/clubs at the firm such as music or sport- which many of the associates seemed to participate in.
Everything Else
They reimbursed up to 100 pounds for travel tickets.
We had a chance to talk to a partner, as well as many of the trainees/associates who came round to each table to talk to us. We also had an opportunity to talk to them over lunch and breaks.
Again, we had many opportunities through out the day for informal chats. Some associates were willing to give out their emails.
As mentioned before, there was a strong emphasis on employees joining other societies at work. They also didn't seem to mind if employees had other commitments outside of work.
Yes, definitely glad I went. It was very insightful, particularly the negotiation game and talks with the associates. The people were really friendly too.
