About You
The placement was really enjoyable - everybody was very friendly and welcoming.
All members of staff were committed to making you feel important and valued, even though we were not official staff members. It felt like we were viewed as the future of the business.
As it is just an insight week, you are not being given any work for which you might need guidance and support. However, the details of the assessment process were relayed to us clearly so we knew exactly what to expect.
Presentations skills and team work/team leadership skills especially.
The Company
Really well structured with a demanding timetable which enabled us to gain a vast insight to our chosen area.
Everyone was happy to talk and we all got on well.
Understandably in an Insight Week there is little opportunity for individual training and development, however we all strongly got the impression that RBS wanted to work for us to develop us into competent professionals.
The job-shadowing sessions gave a real insight into what a full time role with RBS would involve.
In spite of media coverage, RBS houses a really positive culture centred around doing best by its employees and customers.
Seeing 'behind the scenes' at RBS was so insightful and really helped me decide on a future career path.
Everything Else
We were given travel allowance, meal allowance and accommodated in a local hotel.
The week began and ended with 'networking drinks' - a great opportunity to get to know other people on the week as well as people on the Graduate Programs.
They were really enjoyable thanks to the friendly atmosphere.
Everyone is really open to talking to you.
It was a fantastic week and really is invaluable experience.
