About You
It was great fun and the perfect introduction to life in Investment Management at Goldman Sachs and also a great introudction into the firm itself.
It can be difficult in internships, especially when they are of short duration, to feel that everything you are doing is useful or relevant. However, I felt like I could contribute meaningfully to the team and felt like my team enjoyed my presence.
It is important to get the balance right between asking enough questions and edging on anyoing and asking too many. However, everyone was willing to talk and you could meet anyone you wanted if you emailed them and put a slot in their diary.
I developed my soft skills - presentation and interview skills significantly. My hard skills advanced at a slower rate, however I definetly have a better understanding of all assets and how markets operate.
The Company
It was very well structured, the Human Capital management team are exceptional.
The atmosphere in the office was very good and we managed to have a good laugh quite often.
Goldman spent a lot of time making sure the right people were available and willing to talk to us.
I now know what it is like to work full time in IMD at Goldman.
A lot.
I know exactly what I want to do as a result of my time here.
Everything Else
A very reasonable weekly rate.
The networking that was formally organised was limited, it was more a case of being very proactive and finding people that you want to talk to.
As above.
Yes programmes like 10,000 women and 10,000 small businesses were explained very well.
Definetly.
