    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Good placement, was given responcibility, but also provided with help when needed. I truly felt as a part of a team and my manager made every effort to give me challenging task to do rather than long mundane tasks which we can easily outsource.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Good friendly staff who do not look down on you. They did not make me feel like a burden (as i asked lots of questions). Also they understood i was there to learn and needed their guidance.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Were provided with training on using the systems, received notes from previous placement student and evryone was happy to help out. This made my job much easier and much less boring - I always knew what I was doing.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a lot of improvements I wanted to make but didn't get chance as I was so busy. So this does make the day go faster but additionally it means you have a lot of responsiblity to get your work finished otherwise the team will not be happy.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Were given responcibility but everything has to be checked and payments signed off by managers, but this is the same for everyone. As the placement went on and the managers knew the quality of my work i was given more independence

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Confidence and excel skills are the main things gained, which will be useful afterwards. Learnt V lookups and pivot table and lots of random formulas

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great relaxed atmosphere and lots of banter which is always great. I felt right at home and there were not much office politics going on. My team respected me and the work I contributed.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There were HR staff in charge of all placement students, but you didnt really have time for this once you had taken on the responcibility of your role. But I always knew what i was doing and HR are very accesible if you get stuck.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had to do a couple of presentations. I never went on any external training courses. I guess it costs too much to the firm and a cost which they can reduce. I had a few online training courses.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • My manager would like me to return. And I am sure the will offer me a job once he has agreed it with HR. It will all depend on the business needs.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I never really got involved in much outside of work. There were drinks on fridays if you were up for it! great way to end the week.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's not bad for a big city. There are some real cheap places around if you are willing to commute. Having a car would be helpful in this case.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • This is a party central city as there are lots of students around. I would say the night life is amazing! and i'm sure you will agree.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was a volunteerig opportunity but that was before i joined. We did team building activities. From time to time there was the bake sale and dress down days

    4/5
