About You
There were a variety of opportunities for work shadowing which I really enjoyed because I could build my experience of working in diverse environments
During the week, we were given valuable feedback and advice on our career choices and all the questions we asked were always answered and respected.
There were various networking events during the week which meant we could gain a lot of insight and support regarding our choices and career aspirations.
I definitely developed great communication skills especially interacting with new people and I became more confident in myself.
The Company
During the week, we worked and experienced so much including presentation work, team building exercises, work shadowing, networking and the good structure allowed the week to be really memorable for me.
The atmosphere was nice and social where we could approach anyone in the industry whether that was a recent graduate or a person at a senior level which allowed us to gain valuable advice from experienced individuals.
There were graduate mentors who advised us on our presentations, there were also employees in our work shadow who gave up their time to show us what sort of work they do.
The work shadows really allowed us to see how it is to work in different divisions in a bank and the challenging atmosphere and the chance to work in different divisions throughout your career has influenced my choice to work for RBS.
The insight week allowed me to understand that culture is constantly changing especially meeting people working in RBS for almost 15 years we had managed to discuss how things have changed from the past to present.
Everything Else
There were payments for travel and accommodation for people living far away.
There were networking social drinks on the first and last day. And also there was lots off opportunity to meet people throughout the week through work shadows, lunch and also the last day where we met so many employees and graduates in different divisions.
They were great, because we had the opportunity to meet not only graduates but people at senior levels who had more experience.
Few charity events, also netball tournaments for women.
Overall the week not only gives you opportunity to build experience but also challenges you to come out of your comfort zone and discover whether banking is really for you. There are so many activities which help you learn whether the career is for you and also you learn a lot from the experience.
