    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed being taken onboard as a professional even though I was carrying an 'intern' title. I carried out the same taskings as official members of staff.

  • People are very warm and welcoming and this was consistent throughout my placement.

  • Regular one-2-one meetings were held to allow me to voice any queries/concerns that I may of had.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The role in itself can be quite demanded as you have to prioritise between what's important and what's urgent.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair, balanced amount of responsibility as any other permenant member on the team which help me grow pass my learning curve and obtain a vast amount of life-time skills.

  • The skills aquired are both skills which I can adapt to both working life and student life.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • On a regular basis, you often had to liaise with team members. This helped with forming relationships with other colleagues.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation had ordered steps which coincide with my level of progress to help me gradually advance to a level where I was comfortable to carry out tasks independently.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Within the regular one-2-one meetings, my Manager regularly ensured that I was concious of the available job roles and what I may be interested in within the Technology Field.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • My chances of getting a job would be of a better advantage than if I never had a placement with BlackRock. Even thoug ha job is not garanteed when you leave the placement, I've no doubt that I would be considered if I were to re-apply.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I guess it was good but I never really got too involved

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I commuted from home therefor ethere were no living costs involved. City is an expensive area, therefore socialising can be a bit costly depending on where you go.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There is a nightlife as there are many offices around therefore there are many restaurants, bars and clubs which are accessible.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were a few opportunities which I was exposed to, but sometimes hard to commit to because of the demands of the job role and a clash of schedules.
