About You
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, from having the opportunity to talk to recent graduates about their everyday jobs, to shadowing more senior members of staff, it was a great chance to learn about Corporate Banking in general, and RBS in particular.
I certainly felt valued throughout the programme; they got very senior members of staff to take time out of their schedule to talk to us and to supervise us, so they clearly saw us as an investment.
I received support and guidance whenever it was needed, although as it was just a spring week, I didn't really find myself in any situation where I needed any such guidance or support.
I'd say what I learned from my week with RBS was invaluable, particularly when it comes to applying for graduate and summer internship positions, but as it was a spring week, there wasn't much of a chance to develop any technical skills.
The Company
Very well structured - a great mix of work shadowing, presentations and group work.
It was a great atmosphere to be in - the people I met were incredibly friendly and always willing to help
Even though it was a spring week, it felt like they really put the effort in to ensure we had a great experience.
The chance to job shadow and talk to graduates really helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time job.
They make it pretty clear throughout what the culture is, through talking to staff and official materials.
Everything Else
Plenty of chances to network and make contacts throughout the week.
We found out about a few, but not in depth as the week was more focused on the work side of things.
A genuinely enjoyable experience, I'd strongly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about corporate banking!
