About You
Good insight into RBS and their International Banking division.
All the other interns were very friendly; keen to learn but not competitive.
HR/other RBS employees were always available for assistance. Friendly environment.
Whilst the knowledge gained will benefit me if I wish to pursue a career in banking, it won't help me in my degree. Apart from networking, no other skills were developed.
The Company
Very well structured programme of 5 jam-packed days
Very good. All staff were friendly and helpful and the other interns were very nice.
Lot of emphasis placed on developing soft-skills. Not much else.
The programme was a good insight into RBS' culture, and the work shadowing part of it allowed you to see what life would be like on certain desks.
Gained a good understanding of RBS' culture: good work-life balance, not too hardworking, focuse on giving back to society etc etc.
Got a good oversight into the M&IB division of RBS.
Everything Else
Travel reimbursed and accommodation available if you live outside the M25. Food and drink provided.
Met employees when on work shadowing and listened to a few talks from more senior RBS employees, after which it was possible to ask them questions.
2 social events on the week with the other interns.
Yes. Focus on charity work and sports.
