About You
Made some good friends and had an action packed week.
Everyone I met had time to speak to me and I felt valued as part of the RBS community while I was there.
Support for any questions we had and given guidance in advance of the week on what to expect.
Gained a valuable insight into the finance industry and gained presentation, team work and interview skills that will assist me in my degree and any other job interviews I have.
The Company
Well structured - couple of days job shadowing, a couple having presentations by staff at RBS and assessment days where we would do a presentation and have an interview. All at different locations around London which was confusing but was a good insight to see all the different HQ buildings.
Good atmosphere - everyone was praising us for getting onto the spring week, all the other interns were really eager but also supportive and friendly.
As it was just a week, this was limited but they invested their time and support in ensuring we understood every part of the business and offered the chance to further our training at a summer internship via an assessment stage.
Job shadowing gave us a real insight into the values and culture of RBS and what people actually do on a day to day basis.
Everyone was open and honest and expressed their values and culture.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for travel and food and my hotel was paid for and was first class!
Lots of chances to talk with employees at all levels and with each other and the recruitment team.
Twice in the week were social events put on with free drinks and canopes to meet with people and get to know the other interns better.
Some social events organised.
Yes, great way to see what banking is like first hand and hear from the employees themselves.
