About You
Mainly presentations and exercises related to different divisions on the first four days with an option to work shadow on the last day.
Treated very well by all the employees. Could ask whatever you wanted and were encouraged to ask as many questions as possible.
The HR people were always at hand to assist you with any questions/problems.
Gave you an insight into the different divisions in Barclays with case studies/exercises based on that role to show you what skills are required.
The Company
Tightly structured over the five days with a timetable given in the first day so you knew what was happening.
During the presentations it could get a little dry but had a good mix of group activities. Made some good friends with the other interns.
Had professional teachers form 7City to come and develop our presentation skills.
A range of different people from different divisions came to present to give you an insight into their day to day lives and timings.
While the week was not held in their head quarters, we had work shadowing on the last day to give you an insight into the culture.
From all the presentations you should understand which division would be best for you.
Everything Else
They paid for your travel to and from the week. Paid you for the week itself too.
A lot of networking events, general and division specific.
They had a range of speed networking and free for all networking.
They talked about the diversity groups but not really about anything else.
