The Role
Very friendly and helpful environment. There were some great people to work with that really tried their best to help you and to ensure that you learnt something during your time there. This really did make you feel as part of the team.
It depends on each colleague individually. Over-all I would say I have made some really good friends with whom I will stay in contanct after I have finished my placement.
Whenever I would have a question it would be answered by one or another stuff member. This was always done with a smile as they knew you were a student and that you would have more questions than the next person.
Due to recession and big decrease in orders, I did not have much to do. Some poeple would have liked this. But as the business picks up again I am suree it will get much much more busier.
As a placement student could not be running the show but sill had some projects with a high responsibility levels.
Learned how to use new, before unknown to my, software programs, like AutoCAD, CAPP, MiniTAB
The Company
Cannot say anything bad about the atmosphere in my office. Everyone was veyr friendly and welcomed new people with open arms. I made some really good friends here which made the work more enjoyable.
Not bad, but could have been better, if more would be given.
Not much, but in the same time I took part in some training, software licenses were bought for my use.
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
Don't mind coming back after I graduate to gain some more experience. Hopefully they will take me back. Usually if you leave a good impression they will bend over backwards to try to hire you
The Culture
A few meeting and nights out were organised by and for placement students
Stayed in Bradford and Braford is very cheap/ But at the same time it is not the nicest or safest place in the country
For a town like Huddersfield, nightlife offers a big choice of places to go.
We organised a few football sesions, as well as, bowling and some other.
