About You
Many interesting and interactive workshops.
Good opportunities to talk with graduates and solicitors from all departments in the firm.
Interactive sessions and discussions were well-facilitated by trainees.
Gave a good exposure to the types of skills that solicitors require, as well as the type of work they do.
The Company
Well-paced - a good mix of intellectual-based activities and social events.
Relaxed yet engaging.
Half-a-day shadowing opportunity with a trainee solicitor. Rather effective given the short time allotted.
I understood better what kinds of law HSF is especially involved in e.g. the strength of its dispute resolution team.
Gave me a much better idea of what it is like to work as a City lawyer, the types of challenges faced as well as the kind of scope of work.
Everything Else
Reimbursed for transport and hotel accommodation provided.
Yes, not only in official networking events but also informal lunches, where trainees, associates and even some partners took the initiative to pop in.
Good, but the evening social was a bit noisy - maybe a sit-down dinner would have been a slightly better idea.
Not much exposure here, but understandable given that a lot of time was devoted to other activities within the tight 2-day timeframe.
Yes: gives a good idea of how much commercial law actually encompasses (not just corporate procedure).
