About You
I found the negotiation and ADR workshops particularly useful and insightful. The social events (visit to the Shard and dinner at a nearby bar) were enjoyable too.
I felt the firm put in a lot of effort into the programme.
The guidance we received during the workshops enhanced our learning. For example, the trainees gave suggestions we were unaware of because of our lack of legal experience.
Speaking to lawyers from the different departments assisted me in getting a better picture as to where my interests lie in.
The Company
The firm's representatives were mostly very friendly and engaging. They were professional without being too formal.
I cannot comment much on this since it was only a two day event. However, they did rope in a lot of their lawyers and trainees.
The job shadowing was particularly useful as it gave me a better sense of the work atmosphere and work demands.
As it was only a two day event, I could not experience first-hand the culture. However, speaking to the firm's representatives did give me a slight idea of the culture.
It has at least helped me understand better which specific area of law I am more interested in.
Everything Else
The firm paid for all our transportation.
Yes, there were only a few associates and partners, but we did get to speak to a lot of the traines.
It was nice that the networking dinner event was at a bar, so it did not feel too overly formal.
Yes. I asked the trainee I shadowed about it. I understand that they have sport clubs and pro bono opportunities.
Yes, it was one of the most useful and interesting insights I have been to.
