The Role
The people I meet in this job where fantastic, very friendly and amazing scientists (very clever). I really enjoied having my own project and being the companies expert in that area by the end of my placement.
My supervisor was constantly congratulating me for my inquisetiveness and inovation. I received a lot of congratulations for every presntation I did. Also I received various small awards everytime I help someone.
My supervisor gave me all the guidance I need at the begining, also allowed to be independent when realised my prograssion and always available to suport me. The company itself gave me the oppotunity to participate in various trainning courses.
The company provides a lot of flexibily in the emploies working hours. So if one day I have a long experiment or I was feeeling very productive I could work longer hours and leave earlier on another week day.
I belive I was given the responsability adequated to my job. I was very independent on the final months of my project, only having some criticism from my supervisor. I also supervised a school student for two days however that was volluntered.
I learned what are the attitudes required to be a successfull scientist. I learn how to be helpfull to my collegueas and greatfull for the ones that helped me. I learned how to do a report at the level of a scientific paper, which will be an incredible tool for my final year project and for the rest of my life.
The Company
In my department people were happy, approchable, helpfull and enthusiatic but they would also be quite serious in their work.
very well, we were 84 students starting an internship on the same day and they organizeed temporary accomodation for everybody and organized a social event for us to meet. Also almost at the end of the year their was a poster/presentation symposium for the placement students of the company where we all shared our roles, discoveries and experiences.
I had trainning to become expert for all microsoft office applications. I had a two days course with experts on my research area. I had tranning for presentation skills. Also went to a conference with team members.

If they have a position available to my level they said they would be very happy to reemploy me.
The Culture
Yes, we were so many students that was very easy to make friends and meet very different people.
Canterbury is quite expensive if having in account the size of the city. However approximitly half price of London i nterms of accomodation and transport.
Any good clubs for my taste but really good life music every day of the week in various pubs. Also everyday of the week there was a lot of people going out.
The company has a social club with over 20 deffierent sports. Besides various other clubs, eg. walking/hiking, choir, running/cannoing, voluntering...
