About You
The internship was great giving me a an awesome insight into the world of investment banking. I got to meet a lot of new people, and enjoyed myself a lot.
I was in the investment banking division, so although I did feel valued we were not allowed to shadow anyone working, so to an extent we were isolated from the real work Goldman did.
Fairly good guidance, when it came to difficult case studies we were given help by analyst. The HR team were also great in organising all the events, and i felt like i could go to them for anything i needed.
Goldman Sachs emphasis on teamwork has definitely imprinted this skill on to degree studies and beyond.
The Company
Very well structured.
Atmosphere was great. Everyone was keen and excited to speak to us
They invested a lot. We all received AMT training, with a huge textbook. These improved my technical skills a lot.
Not very much. I was in the investment banking devision, and unfortunately I still do not know what a typical analyst would do on a daily basis because we were not allowed to work shadow.
I can know resight the firms 14 values.
Very valuable.
Everything Else
I was very well. However I was not reimbursed my travel expenses, because I live just within the M25. My train ticket into london cost £15 and I live in Surrey, not London, so I was quite disappointed.
We were able to network with a large variety of people ranging from analysts to MD's. and food and drink was also made available for free. There were plenty of these events.
They were very good, and many of the employees didnt quite want to finish networking!
Yes, we were able to discover the affinity networks such as the firmwide black network and womens network, where we even got free drinks!
Definitely
