About You
Great people, very well organised! Being allocated with the actual team enabled me to gain a hands on experience which gave me a very good insight into my business area.
The team was very friendly, helpful and supportive. Despite being extremely busy they always had time to explain me various aspects of the job. I got the feeling that the team really wanted me to succeed.
As I mentioned above, they always had time for me - I was never alone. The instructions and guidance I received for completing small assignments/tasks were very constructive, straight to the point and easily understandable.
I was allocated to Power sector team and as my degree is in Electrical Engineering I would say that the insight helped me to better understand the relationship between technical and economic aspects of the power industry which is very relevant to my degree. First and foremost, the spring week gave me an insight into investment banking which is where I see myself in few years’ time and from that perspective the hands on experience I gained is invaluable. Furthermore, the Quest programme helped me to improve my communication and team working skills which are extremely important for having a successful career.
The Company
The organization was flawless. There was a good balance between time spent with the team and networking socials which enabled me to meet people from different departments and definitely enriched the experience. I would also point out the accommodation arrangement which was extremely convenient - I was placed in a 5 minutes walking distance from the Citi building.
As I mentioned above very friendly and supportive.
The team members spent lots of time answering my questions and explaining me various valuation methods etc. I was exposed to several projects they were working on and that in my opinion made learning very interesting as I had a chance to see how theory was applied in practice.
I think I have a very good understanding of the role.
I met people who had worked more than 10 years in Citi in various locations and departments so I think I got a very good overview of the corporate culture in Citi.
Confirmed my career choice. It was very useful because I was placed with the actual sector team which enabled me to experience the actual day to day work.
Everything Else
Plenty of networking events were arranged.
A three course networking dinner on Thames was ideal for socializing with emplyees and fellow Questers.
Yes I was invited to team dinners every evening and my supervisor told me about their weekly, monthly and yearly events. There were surprisingly many.
The highlight of the year.
