About You
The insight scheme was extremely enjoyable, not only because of the excellent social events, but the activities themselves were useful whilst being entertaining.
I felt the Graduate Recruitment really made an effort to try and integrate us into the firm. Of course, when we went for the work shadowing with a trainee, we couldn't expect the same level of engagement as they were busy and we had little idea about their work.
Not really applicable because I ran into no serious problems, but I'm sure if I had the support would have been excellent.
The workshops were extremely useful. Not especially for my degree, more for the potential skills I may need in future. The information regarding applications was especially useful, and has encouraged me to apply for the Vacation Scheme next year.
The Company
Everything was well organised and smooth. There were a few times where we were waiting for 30 minutes or so for the next speaker / activity, but this was minimal and caused no upset to the overall quality of the scheme.
Everyone was friendly and willing to help out.
I felt they were making an effort to impress us enough to apply for further schemes with them. For this reason the social events, such as going up the shard, were particularly impressive and in this respect I suppose you could conclude that they were investing time and expense to ensure we apply next year.
I think there could have been a little more time in the office ping some real HSF work. The few hours we experienced with a trainee were interesting and Le me wanting to see a little more of the full time roles in the firm.
Of course, everyone we encountered seemed friendly, but I really wasn't there long enough to come to any conclusions about the firm's culture.
I already knew my career path before I started, though I suppose you could say it cemented my decision somewhat.
Everything Else
Everyone was given the opportunity for travel reimbursement, but as mine were minimal I opted not to claim them back.
I encountered a wide range of employees throughout the two days - Partners, Associates, Graduate Recruitment and Associates.
A trip up the shard, followed by a meal at a restaurant were excellent ways in which we were able to network with other employees in a relaxed environment.
Not really, although one trainee mentioned that there was a football team.
A great experience all round. Friendly people and interesting activities. Perhaps just a little more by way of office time would have perfected the experience.
