About You
Such a good and educational time, brilliant people and friends for life.
We had people ranging from all the way from the top of the organisation (EMEA Co-COO, COO IBD) through to Analysts come and speak to us.
HCM was available to support at any time and incredibly friendly.
2 days of Valuation and Accounting training was incredibly helpful, as was learning some jazzy excel shortcuts.
The Company
A packed schedule for the whole time!
HCM selected the participants incredibly well and thus the atmosphere was through the roof.
A lot. We not only had technical training for 2 days with a training firm, but also continuous teambuilding tasks and tips from everyone as to how to do things.
Becuase we weren't allowed on the floor due to compliance reasons, but the programme was rather a series of talks. training and case studies, it was very different as to what working would be. The case studies (one in M&A and financing respectively) did however give an idea of what kind of work we'd be doing.
Every speaker (Senior Speaker Series, topical discussions) touched on the culture at some point wether prompted or not, and the culture also really came through in everyone we met in a less official capacity (eg buddies).
It was good to understand more about financing, but as I already know I want to go into IBD it wasn't too helpful for me specifically.
Everything Else
Expenses were reimbursed if you didn't live very nearby (flight, hotel, etc) but this wasn't relevant for me.
There were many 'official' networking events with people ranging from analysts to PMD's, but also more informal ones.
Good, (breakfasts, lunches, evening drinks, 'candy party', pub quiz etc.)
Affinity networks, gym, football, etc.
Had so much fun, and genuinely, the people are so nice!
