The Role
Good placement, was given responcibility, but also provided with help when needed. I also learnt a lot on this placement due to everyone being so helpful. My collegues also knew I was very interested in the job so they were keen to help me out.
Good friendly staff who do not look down on you. I felt just like any other employee. My collegues knew I was a student so they were patient with me but they never made me feel inferior or less important than anyone else
Were provided with training on using the systems, received notes from previous placement student and evryone was happy to help out.
There was a lot of improvements I wanted to make but didn't get chance as I was so busy. We were fairly busy some months and others not soo much. I think the longest day I did was 12 hours and the shorted 7.5 hours
Were given responcibility but everything has to be checked and payments signed off by managers, but this is the same for everyone.
Confidence and excel skills are the main things gained, which will be useful afterwards. I learnt some important formulas such as Vlookups and Hlookups as well as pivot tables
The Company
Great atmosphere lots of banter. Everyone was very easy going so this helped pass the day. We all got on well and so I enjoyed coming into work and did not mind working late on occasion to help the team out.
There were HR staff in charge of all placement students, but you didnt really have time for this once you had taken on the responcibility of your role. But overall I was well directed and there was never a time where i did not know what I was doing or where i was going
We had to do a couple of presentations.

My manager would like me to return. However, there has to be a business need for the company to employ anyone. Hopefully, as i worked pretty hard they should offer me a place, as I have heard they usually do.
The Culture
I never got involved with any other student. But if you wanted to I am sure you would be more than welcome to. Other students were very friendly.
It's not bad for a big city. If you can get a house share that would be your cheapest option. If you go solo and want a flat for yourself in city centre then that could be quite expensive.
Amazing night life - Leeds has lots of student who love to party. There is also no shortage of clubs! you can party evry night of the week if you wanted to (not recommended) :)
There was a volunteerig opportunity but that was before i joined. We did team building activities.
