About You
The enthusiasm of the current employees at Deloitte was very reassuring that it is a great place to work at.
I felt that I could ask limitless questions at appropriate times, which is always great as a candidate because you still may not be 100% sure on what you want to do in the future.
Every representative of the different service lines were very approachable and gave their honest opinion and advice. I was very happy that the representative of the department I am interested in, Actuary, was very comfortable to answer all the questions that I had. It got to the point that I ran out of questions because I asked so many at the arranged dinner for us all.
I believe that in terms of skills developed, I certainly developed my networking skills. It is always good to not only talk to the current employees, but also to your fellow candidates.
The Company
Great structure. The two days were full of information, and dedicated slots to each line of service so you had a better idea of which one suited you more. The days could be quite long, but the experience there very much out-weighed that.
The atmosphere was very good. It was a focussed yet relaxed atmosphere.
Deloitte invested the time of running the Spring Into Deloitte event, which helped to reassure me that the direction I want to take in my career is the right one for me.
There was a lot of information and general conversations on the day to day work life. I found that by asking a lot of questions, I found a better understanding of the possible role that I could have at Deloitte.
I was really impressed by the enthusiasm of all the representatives.
The structured workshops gave a better insight, compared to just reading a brief summary online, as to what exactly you would be doing in each line of service.
Everything Else
I did not need reimbursing, however it was available for other candidates who travelled from further distances to me. I only needed one underground train to get there, so I was fine.
During the workshops, the representatives of each service line would talk to every table at some point. In addition, there was an evening meal. This for me was one of the best parts of the event, because I was seated next to an employee who works in the department that I am interested in.
There were always chances to network.
There is a good culture where employees socialise outside of work.
Definitely without question a great use of my time. It provided me with a better knowledge and understanding of the running of Deloitte.
