The Role
Very much enjoyed the role. Felt that I had real business responsibilites and that my contribution was valued. Excellent opportunites for self development. Also excellent opportunity to progress your career.
Felt part of the team almost instantly. Even have excellent relationships with others from outside my team. Was not treated like a student - but just like any other member of the team! this was great!
Straightforward and direct manager, who helped me gain the most and gave me key objectives to complete for my placement. Lots of support from other collegues as well - I got on really well with everyone so I guess that helps
Did find that some months were busier than others. But during busy times the days fly by. When its not busy it can drag a little and get boring.
Owned my own part of the business. And I am currently pushing through a new process which will be implemented in the next few months. They trusted me a lot as I delivered quality work and was a trustworthy person.
I feel that what I have learned will help in my future studies. Learnt lots of excel skills - various formulas and pivot tables
The Company
Always had a fun, postive and jovial atmosphere. Lots of banter in the team which is great when it get s busy. This kept everyone happy and I enjoyed coming into work!
Seemed to be very streamlined. I always knew where to go and HR looked after the placements students really well.
Had all training possibilities at my disposal. Had quite a few online training courses which were great as it got me away from doing my normal job at times
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Even though very competetive, feel that there is scope for a future role. This will depend on a business need but I fell confident I will be offered a place.
The Culture
Difficult to rate as have a wife and child, so couldnt spend much time socialising with the other interns.
Quite expensive compared to other parts of the country. But it is manageable - make sure you share accomodation with someone else. If you go into a single flat it will get very expensive.
Again, not really my scene.... But from the stories I have heard it sounds like a great place to party!
I never got involved in volunteering. There was also lots of opportunities for charity work.
