About You
Overall it was a brilliant experience - a feeling shared by the entire group.
They treated us very kindly. At no point did I feel confused about what we were doing or alone. The Graduate Recruitment Team took very good care of us the entire way through.
As above, the management of the programme was top notch, as it always is with Linklaters. Each member of staff that we interacted with took great care of us in showing us what to do, what they wanted, and how we could achieve.
There were numerous classes, talks and workshops on offer. The best in terms of personal development was the Personal Branding workshop where we were trained in selling ourselves, interview success, unique selling points and the all-important initial handshake.
The Company
Linklaters are famed for their structure and organisation, the Pathfinder scheme did not disappoint. There were no hiccups and only fluid progression over the two days.
All of the Pathfinders were upbeat and cheery, even after a late night on the Monday and long journeys. The staff were always smiling and always keen. Overall a fantastic experience.
Highly, it was clear from the management of the scheme that few expenses were being spared, we were treated incredibly well.
Two different work shadowing sessions helped us understand the potential roles we would be filling. The work was difficult and somewhat confusing due to our lack of understanding, however in terms of understanding our future work - it was very useful.
We spent our entire two days immersed in the company's culture so by the end of the scheme we had a very sound grasp of it.
As always, the world of law is hard to comprehend from outside the revolving doors. Once you have had a taste, it is far easier to make career judgements.
Everything Else
They paid for the hotel overnight and also kindly covered my travel expenses in full, this was transferred to me a couple of weeks after the event.
We spent four hours in total one-on-one with Linklaters fee earners.
The quiz on offer was a great success, although it would have been fun to go out afterwards as a group. Instead, a selection of us staying at the hotel went to the hotel bar for a few drinks.
I am sure there are many opportunities, however I do not recall many being brought to our attention. Inference suggests there are various chances to socialise - there always is as "work hard - play hard" firms.
Yes, without a doubt.
