About You
The people were great and very driven, group exercises were fun. Having an insight into a variety of roles improved my understanding of how different divisions of the bank interact. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would certainly recommend to anyone considering a carreer in banking or finance.
A great effort was made to make you feel valued, the staff knew your name and paid attention to your needs.
We all got a handbook with the plan for the week as well as photos and names of all participants. The HR team was very approachable and answered any questions in a very professional and friendly manner.
The insight into different divisions of the bank provided me with better understanding of what roles suit my skills and interests and helped me define my carreer goals post graduation.
The Company
Coordination was perfect, no "down time" at all.
Amazing. It was very intense, filled with events and group projects. Everyone was smart, friendly and driven. Easily the best team I have ever worked with.
The entire week was basically personal development.
Presentations, Q&A, team exercises, work shadowing... They all contributed to our understanding of what it would mean working at Barclays.
There was a lot of emphasis on company values and culture.
If you are interested in banking but not sure what role in particular you would like to do, I can not imagine a better program than this one to help you decide.
Everything Else
There was no "salary", but food, accommodation and transport were all provided.
Plenty of networking events with people at all levels and divisions of the firm.
Very good. Employees were friendly, approachable and helpful. You did not feel awkward at all, as it sometimes the case on this type of events.
There was not a big focus on this, but I do not think it would have added much value.
I have already done so to many of my friends.
