About You
Fantastic overview of how Barclays divisions co-operate and the variety of roles on offer.
When working on a presentation, help was there when needed and feedback given to improve how to tackle and structure such a programme whilst maintaining other commitments.
My interviewer from the AC wanted to meet up and ensured he was there for any additional help and tips.
The knowledge and skill base you learn at Barclays will put you in really good stead when applying for any future jobs.
The Company
Ran like clockwork each day.
The culture at Barclays is extremely productive and helpful, never felt a problem with asking as many questions as I needed to.
Although only a week long - the whole purpose of the week is to develop your understanding of how the industry and bank operates.
I understand the pressures, trails and tribulations however I don't think I can fully appreciate this until a summer internship.
100% see the positive attitude and atmosphere that Barclays is striving towards.
It definitely strengthened my views on the area in which I want to apply for a summer internship.
Everything Else
Travel expenses were paid on top of a good sum of money for the week.
Networking events were organized, with an Olympic speaker too.
Again, we had an Olympic speaker - with drinks and networking afterwards - there was also work shadowing which provided a networking opportunity.
I am aware Barclays employees are able to give back a lot of time to the community, however this wasn't a particular feature of the programme.
100% worthwhile week.
