The Role
Enjoyed my time at Accenture greatly, especially the people I was able to work with. Learnt and experienced many new things.
Most colleagues treated you as their equal. Was a small number who thought that as an intern you had to do all the mundane pieces of work.
HR kept us up to date via email and events. Support can depend on your supervisor and your relationship with them
First project was really good in terms of business. Was able to leave at reasonable hours. Second project was very hectic with long hours required of me and my team. Again, will depend on your project. Was never bored though
Was given a lot of responsibility by Manager and the rest of the team.
Time Management was very key. Just building employability skills and the things that you will be doing at University but in a more serious manner and environment
The Company
Good environment to work. Friendly people with good energy.
Was very organised at the beginning. However, things like following up of internship were not organised as well.
You get one week of training to learn the basics. However the majority of training is done on the job with the the help of your colleagues.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Roles usually involve a lot of travel which can be tiring after a couple of months. Will hopefully return though as it is a very good working environment
The Culture
Placement students events were held very often. Also regular colleague events including dinner and other social activities. Was able to experience things like Laserquest and Go-karting
Accenture support all out of town costs so not much cost there and you can use money saved for things you like. Much more expensive on a Friday in London where travel, food and drinks are more expensive.
Worked in Manchester and Northampton. In Manchester the nightlife was amazing and there were always things to do in the evening. Northampton was the opposite with very little to do apart from the odd dinners.
Plenty of opportunities through groups and companies. Was unable to take full advantage due to other commitments.
