About You
The Company
The shadowing in my chosen department was minimal but helpful. The various group exercises and presentations did prove useful in strengthening my team work skills.
Through the graduate panels and the speed networking with graduates the work culture was evident. As a student they were easy to relate too and gave good insight into the transition from student to holding a graduate role.
The company's principles were constantly mentioned which portrayed the importance of their values and I gained a clear understanding of their significance. I was also able to talk to Barclays employees who work on the diversity team which gave me greater insight.
The different days were from different departments as opposed to the one I applied for. Being someone who had done quite intensive research on the department I wanted to work in and was almost certain, hearing about other divisions did not affect my decision significantly.
Everything Else
It was a sufficient amount.
There were two evening networking sessions and a number of speed networking one's during the various departmental sessions.
They were very useful in to gaining an understanding of areas I found interesting. I managed to gain some useful contacts. The casual nature of the networking sessions made them enjoyable.
This was discussed briefly and I managed to learn more through speaking to one of the employees at the networking session.
Yes I would. Particularly to one who is unsure of the area they want to go into. For some one certain about their area of interest I would recommend it on the basis that you gain insight into other divisions you may have blind sided when making your decision.
