  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Everyone was extremely friendly, both HR, the bank representatives as well as the other interns on the program

    • You felt valued, however as it was merely an insight week, it was more about taking part in group projects and listening to the various presentations being held

    • We got given support from both HR as well as tips from analysts and associates and other members

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • It's difficult to say that "skills" can be developed in merely a week, but a lot of group work was done which helped

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • It was well structured, but very broad as well. It covered all areas of the investment bank which was good for people who don't really know where they want to begin their career

    • The atmosphere was great! Friendly people, good food!

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • They did well taking into consideration the time limit! We had a trading game and a presentations exercise which was helpful

    • As much as they could within a week! However it is difficult to get a deep understanding since they only cover the different areas for a limited amount of sessions (usually a day per area)

    • Got a brief understanding, good speech during the first evening event

    • Barclays pay for your accomodation and travelling expenses and give you an allowance for the week

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Every day, whether it be in presentations, networking or mingling

    • Good, but the evening events could have had more representatives
