About You
Quite a relaxed atmosphere which meant whenever there were questions asked they were genuine and well thought out. Also resulted in a lot more teamwork and genuine relationships to be made with both the staff and other people on the spring insight.
It was only a 3 day course so to say too much may be a bit extreme but in general everyone was very friendly and treated us with respect. Of course being a 3 day course you don't have very much individually to do that contributes to the company so being valued in that sense is not applicable.
There was always someone there if you needed anything, the timetabling was well done so the only time you really required extra guidance would be during the workshops where the people at HSBC were always happy to help with any questions you had.
A lot of general information to take in as part of the insight, also excellent opportunities to talk to many people in HSBC and there were several skills sessions that provided some more insight into the required qualities in investment banking
The Company
We knew what we would do all the time where timetabling was clear and generally adhered to quite well.
Friendly, informative and a wide range of different themed activities throughout the day.
As much as they could in 3 days, lots of talks, lectures and activities to do.
It was what you made of it. If you were proactive you would find out lots, if not then not so much. But either way you do get a good general idea from the activities held.
Although we didn't get to shadow anyone you could tell that the colleges were very friendly and that, as with any firm, good work is rewarded.
Great information that meant we could make an informed decision of what we may want to do as a Summer Internship.
Everything Else
Travel reimbursed if you wanted to.
Dinner, drinks and lots of other scheduled times to meet employees of HSBC
Food and a relaxed atmosphere to talk. But as with any event like this some people would have mini crowds around them.
It was mentioned that employees do get involved in lots of activities but wasn't really a highlight, but then again I don't really expect it to be unless I actively ask.
Yes, great as a learning experience and to just see the corporate culture of HSBC
