About You
The open day had a really comprehensive programme of information about the firm, necessary skills and application skills. Definitely a worthwhile and helpful 'insight' into how the firm operates and what will be expected of candidates in the application process.
All members of the firm that I encountered were friendly approachable and engaging. It was also great to meet trainees who had attended the Open Day as it made the process seem more credible and worthwhile, at some other firms the process can be quite suerficial but I didnt think this about Baker & McKenzie.
It was great to always have our own designated trainee in each of the exercises and the graduate recruitment team were apprachable and really helpful with any questions that anyone had.
It was really helpful to geet some training in presentation skills and negotiation as this is something that we don't get taught as part of our law degree but something that is of key importance in the recruitment process. The feedback from trainees was really helpful and it was great to hear from past successful applicants about how to come accross well and effective negotiation skills.
The Company
The open day was really comprehensive and interactive which made it really enjoyable. As it's only a day it was great that all the time was productive and helpful for the people attending so we could make the most out of the contact with the firm.
All Baker & McKenzie team members were really friendly and it was great to meet some like-minded candidates who I have kept in tough with since the open day.
I really felt valued and that the firm were appreciative of our attendance and really wanted us to make the most out of the day.
It was great to talk to trainees who are in the position I hope to be in and I definitely found out more about how the firm operates
Great presentation from a partner at the start of the day showing that trainees are cared about at all levels of the firm. Also lots of opportunities to interact with trainees and hear their first hand experiences.
The workshops, networking and presentations and visiting the firm really confirmed by enthusiasm and interest in Baker & McKenzie.
Everything Else
I was paid promptly and we submitted expenses forms on the day.
We had a really informative speed networking sessions and also a nice informal lunch where we were given the opportunity to talk to trainees in a relaxed settign.
Great, relaxed and informative and we had loads of opportunities to ask any questioons that we needed answering.
We talked to trainees about CSR programmes and sports teams and the general social life of the trainees. It was apparent that they have a good work/life balance which makes the firm very attractive.
Its a really good opportunity to gain exposure to the firm for anyone that isn't eligible for the vacation scheme.
