The Role
I thought it was a great experience. It introduced me to the world of finance and although audit isn't something that I decided to go into, it was a great way to spend to summer vacation.
I really felt valued whilst in the team. My seniors were very helpful and gave me a lot of guidance when I needed further help with my work.
I was assigned a counselor and a buddy from day one and they were all extremely supportive and helped me to feel settled instantly.
On a daily basis, I usually had work, however, audit does have its downtime and in these moments I was usually sent to help out other departments.
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility suited to my experience and I took charge of my work wherever possible.
I learnt a lot about excel which I have used occasionally whilst at university. In addition, I worked in a number of teams so I feel that my teamworking skills were greatly harnessed.
The Company
I didn't spend too much time in the office as the majority of the time I was at the client's site, however, when I was at the office there was a good atmosphere with the other interns.
It was reasonably well organised, though I had a few difficulties in obtaining the clients I specifically requested for.
We had a whole weeks worth of training initially before we started client work.

I was able to secure a graduate position but decided that the industry was not for me!
The Culture
Definitely! We often socialised after work when we were reasonably close to the office!
London is very expensive and I found that the majority of the week I was eating out because I was coming home quite late!
The nightlife was fantastic, as after all it is London!
I played in one football match while I was there! They have lots of different sports activities as well as other networking groups.
