The Role
Initially, I enjoyed the time out of university and the opportunity to make some money (student debt and all), however towards the end of the placement, I was definitely ready to head back to university.
I worked within the audit department for the telecommunications department and my colleagues in my teams were really understanding that I was less experienced!
My buddy came from the same university so I really looked up to them and took heed of their advice along the way!
Busy season was extremely busy. Late nights are a given unfortunately. So on the whole I was very busy on a daily basis.
I felt that towards the end of the placement I was ready to take on more responsibility, however, because I was constantly moving off clients I did not get that much consistency to be able to take on more tasks.
I learnt a lot about Microsoft Excel and the Ernst and Young audit programmes. In terms of soft skills, definitely teamworking has been enhanced.
The Company
The atmosphere was really lively. I loved being in the office when I was not at the client's site.
The placement was well organised. I felt that there could have been more social activities for the industrial placement students, something for them to look into in the future.
We had training as soon as we arrived at the firm in an external location which was nice to get to know people in a different setting.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I secured a graduate scheme with them based on my feedback!
The Culture
Definitely. There was a group of us whom regularly went out so I would say there was a good social scene.
Eating lunch out every day in London was extremely expensive and depending on whereabout you are in London this varied immensely!
London is known for having a great nightlife! This did not disappoint!
There was the usual sports teams. I took part in the badminton club occasionally.
