About You
I enjoyed how interactive the 3 days was and how I got to learn a little more about the investment banking sector. I also really enjoyed the numerous presentations from senior members of staff.
I would say that I felt valued because the staff seemed as if they really cared about why I was there and also what my future career aspirations were.
We were given guidance on what specific sector would be best for us through different presentations. In addition, we also had a few small group exercises which feedback was given after.
I felt that the insight improved my confidence and also gave me a good idea of where I might be going wrong, in terms of my personal brand.
The Company
I really cannot fault it as it went so well!
The atmosphere was good! The staff were really friendly which made all the difference and helped me to feel settled.
I felt that they invested a great deal in their insight day as lots of senior staff came to share with us which was really invaluable and no doubt would cost the business a lot of time.
We didn't get to partake in any work shadowing which prevented me from getting a good idea of what it would be like to have a full time job! Hopefully the internship will be different!
HSBC strikes me as a very people orientated firm. The staff that I came across all seemed to love the culture of the firm.
It definitely gave me a clearer idea of where I want to be in the future.
Everything Else
My travel expenses were reimbursed and HSBC also covered a lot of our food expenses.
There were a few opportunities! Usually after work which after a long day was a challenge.
The networking activities were good. Meeting senior members of staff is somewhat daunting initially but I felt that it was a good learning experience and a chance to put into practice what we had learnt!
This was mentioned briefly. As with any other large firm the usual sports activities exist out of office hours.
Would definitely recommend it if you want a better understanding into HSBC.
