About You
It was a fantastic opportunity to get an insight into the workings of this huge investment firm. It was very enjoyable, sociable and entertaining.
It was only a short period of time but there were several senior members who came and spoke to us making us feel valued.
The senior members were very forthright and helpful and the panel session was very insightful and gave us lots of advice. I was able to spend time on desks with many employees who were very helpful in supporting my career choices and academic decisions thus far.
The program gave me a much clearer understanding of the buy side of investment strategy and a better view of the macroeconomic situation at the time. It was also a great insight into trading that is often overlooked by firms.
The Company
It wasn't especially well structured because I was there on an ad hoc basis. But it still provided me with ample time with employees and senior members across the floor.
It was light hearted and relaxed but also very informative which was a great balance to strike for those of us visiting.
Due to the short period of time there wasn't very much time devoted to personal training. It was mainly an opportunity for discussion, networking and education.
The senior employees were very open about the graduate scheme and helped us understand how they had reached their own positions - thereby helping us as well. They also put us in touch with HR who followed up with a more detailed appraisal.
Everyone we met was very open and relaxed during discussions and were very honest. This was very helpful and gave us all a positive impression of the company.
Everything Else
Apart from on the office floor, opportunities were limited due to time constraints.
As mentioned, these were very limited so a fair assessment cannot be reached.
Due to the nature of the insight, this question was not posed.
Despite its brevity, it was an invaluable insight into JPMorgan Asset Management and a great chance to learn more about investment management from an industry leader.
