About You
Friendly campus recruitment team and well structured insight programme
Got to know a lot of the interns really well from the group tasks, we all had a great time
Campus recruitment team were always around to provide help
We learnt a lot in the short time we had! One particular message that has stuck with me is the difference between an important task and an urgent task
The Company
We were given a clear overview of what to expect well in advance
It was hard work but interesting and fun
It taught me how to be a better professional in the corporate world as I was encouraged to interact with senior management from day one
9 hours of work shadowing provided significant insight into how it would be like to be a full time employee
A lot of emphasis was placed on Barclays new values i.e. respect, integrity, service, excellence and stewardship and it helped me better understand the positive new direction that the company was going in
I have a better understanding of the difference between the development and infrastructure roles available in the organisation
Everything Else
Two networking events and an opportunity to interact with senior management and Olympic gold medalists
How does networking on the 49th floor of the Pan Peninsula sound? The view of Canary Wharf from up there was amazing! It was an excellent opportunity to meet with the other interns and senior management
We had a presentation to work on for the last day of the internship which we worked on outside of the insight
Yes. If you do well, you get fast tracked to summer intern-ship assessment centre
