The Role
Absolutely loved it, will be a shame to leave.
I couldn't of asked to work with a better team for the year :)
I had a line manager during my year who also became a really good friend to me. We had monthly meetings to discuss my progress or any worries I may have but i was also supported by the rest of the PR team if I had any worries or questions.
You're always busy in the PR department but it was always a manageable amount and my team made sure my work load was balanced and gave me tips on how to prioritise when it did become too much.
My responsibilities grew as my confidence grew which was a great system. I've been given so much responsibility throughout the year and I've felt like such a key team member.
I've learnt so much of my placement year, probably more than i did at uni and I know this year will really benefit me when it comes to applying for jobs after graduation. I also was lucky enough to get additional training on excel and presentation skills.
The Company
I loved my team. We always had a laugh at the appropriate times and there was always a treat jar which was good :)
Really good. The student in HR does a lot of it and it works well.
The team were always asking me what additional training I wanted and made sure I got everything out of this year I wanted.

A lot of people who work in the office today used to be on the placement scheme a few years ago which was really nice to see. One of the PR managers also was a placement student once.
The Culture
There was 17 of us this year and we all got on as one big group and no dramas which was great, we became a bit of a family unit. I was Social Rep and arranged bar crawls with other placement companies in the area which were a lot of fun.
Personally I found it okay, it was roughly the same as rent at uni. The cost to travel to work was a bit more than usual but then again I was earning more than i got when i was at uni so it was fine.
Reading's an okay night out, I prefer other towns but nightlife is what you make it and who you're with.
Because there were so many students there was always a birthday or an occassional to celebrate or someone available at the weekend to chill with.
