About You
Absolutely loved the insight, honestly a worthwhile experience solidifying my desire to work in the financial industry.
I felt valued, constant reminders encouraging us that working in the internship was a viable way of getting recruited.
I received a lot of guidance, the internship was structured educationally and any problems we had we were encouraged to come forward with.
I honestly believe the skills I learnt were invaluable. I know how to carry myself respectably in a professional setting. My interview skills have improved as well as my communication.
The Company
The structure was seamless, everything was simply laid out and we alway knew what we had to do on the internship.
I though the atmosphere was great, fast paced and never a dull moment.
The firm really invested their time in the interns when I was there. Analysts would take time off their desks to teach us and guide us through their work.
The insight was 2 weeks long and so shadowing different desk gave us an insight but I believe having stayed longer would have been more beneficial.
The insight was extremely helpful to understand culture, we learned exactly how staff interacted with each other and the atmosphere was friendly.
Incredibly helpful, I now understand and know that this is career path I want to follow.
Everything Else
We were paid well and the experience was more than enough pay in itself.
Alongside shadowing hours, analysts and other members in the firm were always willing to meet us, as interns. The networking opportunities were fantastic and really recommend you make the most out of networking.
The networking/ social events were adequate, there were a lot of interns and to meet everyone was obviously unrealistic. Networking events with staff were great although hard to properly engage with them due to the knowledge base as an intern.
At the firm, there were constant reminders of the opportunities provided to staff and what they can get involved. Goldman Sachs has a number of activities ranging from volunteering to sport.
Insight was invaluable, if you have the chance I would definitely recommend trying to get on the program.
