About You
The Spring Week offers a true insight. You get to learn the basics of the business, and at the same time you have the chance to observe how what you have just learned is being applied on a daily basis.
At first it might seem strange, but everyone is really interested in meeting you and, if possible, they will take a big amount of time (30min-1h) to get to know you and answer all of your questions. And this applies to the most senior people.
Feedback is always available, you just need to ask for it. The Recruiting Team also gives you a ton of tips on how to succeed in the Spring Week.
The learning curve is extremely steep and the soft skills that you take from experiencing the atmosphere of the trading floor is immense.
The Company
The coordination was perfect. Our schedule was well-balanced between learning, experiencing and having enough free time, so that we could arrange extra meetings.
The atmosphere was very good, there is real comradery between the Spring Interns.
The number of hours that the firm's employees dedicated to us was staggering.
You don't get a complete taste, but you get to understand a big part of it through observing the younger analysts and getting to talk with them.
There are a number of firmwide orientations on the company's culture and most of the staff will remind you of many of the company's business principles.
Getting to experience the day-to-day life on trading floor was a huge help.
Everything Else
I was paid adequately. All my expenses were covered.
You had a lot of downtime, in which you could arrange a number of meetings.
They were great. You get to talk with everyone, basically, even the most senior people will want to hear from you.
The firm invested a lot of time in explaining what other activities are available to its employees, and even the employees stress the importance of these activities on many of our conversations.
Absolutely.
