About You
Programme gave me a good insight into the banking industry and I learnt a lot.
Due to the short duration of the programme (3 days) I did not really get to take part in any projects within the firm.
There were lots of opportunities to ask questions to a variety of employees, from senior figures to analysts.
The skills session and networking were very useful and getting application tips for internships and graduate programs will definitely help in the future.
The Company
The schedules were packed with speakers from different areas of the investment bank, interactive sessions and networking sessions, I was surprised by how much we managed to fit in!
Everyone was very kind and friendly but the days were quite long and tiring. Some of the question and answer sessions were a bit long.
A lot of effort was put into making the insight programme as beneficial to us as possible, I felt it was a great opportunity.
Speaking to the analysts was very useful as they were honest about the working hours and workload as well as the culture at HSBC.
Company values were emphasised on numerous occasions.
After the programme I feel that going into investment banking is a possibility for me.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed fully for transport/ meals and HSBC put us in a hotel for the duration on the programme.
There were several networking opportunities across different departments.
There was a good environment and company employees were open and friendly.
Several employees seemed to be very keen on the large on site gym.
The programme was a great 3 days and I learned a lot. It was a very enjoyable experience.
